All our products contain the themed key message of risk reduction and deal with the development of the technical, management and personal skills which ensure that practice risks are significantly reduced.
Our training falls into one of four categories
1. Technical risk management. We have introduced a series of courses entiled ‘Risk Management for…’ which will eventually cover all key practice areas. Each course deals with core transactions and procedures, pointing out where things can – and do – go wrong and illustrating pitfalls and how to avoid them through tutor war stories and professional negligence case law. Knowing where transactional and procedural matters can go wrong reduces the risk of those matters actually going wrong.
2. Regulatory training. Law South runs programmes which cover specific provisions in the Solicitors Professional Code of Conduct, money laundering, accounts and other financial matters as well as general legislative issues such as equality and health and safety. Regulatory compliance is the cornerstone of risk management within law firms.
3. Leadership and management training. We offer a broad range of courses which develop the team leadership, business management and matter supervisory skills of those with responsibility for others. We believe that good leadership is critical to running a firm as an efficient and effective business. Leading competently reduces the risk of team member error.
