Objectives
Delegates will be able to gain an understanding of the facts about stress, understand the problems that stress can cause in the workplace, found out about the things that are most likely to cause us stress at work, learn what to look out for in ourselves and others who may be suffering from stress and learn what we can do to lessen the build up of the impact of stress by developing stress busting techniques and creating the right environment.

- What is stress?
- The chemical changes that occur within ourselves at times of stress and their impact on our well-being.
- Problems caused by stress in the work place
- Its affect on performance, absenteeism, staff turnover and customer relations.
- Stress inducers
- Many things contribute to the build up of stress, it is not just workloads and time pressures.
- Signs of stress
- Stress shows itself in many ways, as managers, human beings and individuals it is important that we are tuned into these behavioural indicators so we can act.
- Breaking the stress chain
- This can be done ‘in the moment’ with techniques which can temporarily take the pressure off, but for on-going well-being we need to create an environment which will lessen the build up of stress and allow us to be more productive.
