Objectives
Many of us have heard of Derren Brown, the ‘illusionist’ with the ability to influence and therefore predict other people’s behaviour. He has spent years mastering his art, however many of the techniques he employs are accessible to us all. Even he admits that his techniques aren’t anything special, they are simply adaptations to the way he communicates that achieve exceptional results.
In this half day workshop, we take a look at similar techniques and question how they can be appropriately applied in a professional context with clients. The aim is not to manipulate or exploit but to be able to communicate more clearly and create better relationships. This means increasing client satisfaction and enhancing the effectiveness of the communication.
Course objectives:
To become a more persuasive communicator with these simple and effective techniques.

Presenter: James Rose has 20 years’ experience of developing the potential and capability of staff, teams and organisations. He is passionate about enabling people not only to do their jobs better but also to understand how they went about it so that it can be replicated.
To achieve this, he focusses on tangible and practical techniques that can be easily and effectively implemented in the workplace, all underpinned with sound theory. Often this results in a commercial advantage over competitors, with a more motivated and empowered workforce. He started his career assessing the customer service skills of call centre staff. This is where he learnt the value of effective communication, an empathetic manner and a relationship-oriented approach to doing business. Over the years, he moved into more senior positions.
