Objectives
A firm’s most valuable asset is its people. Solicitors, who have been long trained in the law, sometimes take it for granted that everyone knows just how a firm works, what the difference is between the various types of practice: and indeed between the various types of law. Without any background knowledge, new members of the firm will not able to “hit the ground running” and the firm may be at risk from their not understanding fundamental professional practices.
This course will provide delegates with an outline of the legal profession. It will give new support staff and paralegals an appreciation of the structure and systems within a solicitor’s practice, enabling support staff and paralegals to have an understanding of the rules of professional conduct and provide an outline of risk management issues.
